SSI payments are different from SSDI in the sense that they are need-based. SSI does not depend on your past work history. For the year 2020, if you are single and are accountable for your own living expenses, then your benefit will be $783 per month. The benefit for couples is $1,175. The SSI check will come from the Social Security Administration.
On top of the SSI checks, you are also eligible for a supplement from the Massachusetts State Supplement Program (SSP).
