Keches Law Group would like to wish everyone a happy Halloween! As always we want to remind everyone to have fun and stay safe with some helpful tips:
- Be careful to make sure walkways are clear of all hazards such as decorations, leaves, branches, electrical cords, and cables. Remove any obstacles that could result in an accident for a trick or treater.
- Repair any loose handrails, unsafe stairs or decking on your property. Remove any pieces of loose asphalt on walkways and driveways, and fill any holes to prevent any falls or injuries.
- Refrain from the use of flames by using battery-powered candles and lights.
- Be mindful of the placement of low hanging decorations and smoke/fog machines, as they can make it difficult for your trick or treaters to see what’s in front of them.
- When driving, be cautious of pedestrians, as most trick or treaters are wearing masks and costumes that can obstruct their vision and may cross the street without warning. If you’re walking, we recommend bringing a flashlight or reflective accessory to make you more visible to drivers.
- Be vigilant about containing pets, especially dogs. They can become frightened by strangers, costumes, and noise. Dogs can become stressed, and at times aggressive when frightened.
- Be observant with the candy you hand out, and the candy your trick or treaters bring home. Inspect for loose wrappers, puncture holes, and dispose of any suspicious-looking candy.
