Immediately notify your employer and go receive the medical attention necessary if you get hurt at work. If you know you will be out of work, then bring a doctor’s note to your employer. Upon your 5th day of absence due to injury, you can begin collecting workers’ compensation. Note: these days do not have to be consecutive. Every injury, even those that seem unimportant, should be reported to your employer as soon as possible. Most employers file written reports and document all accidents or injuries. If your workplace does not have such a filing system, make sure that the person you report the matter to writes it down and provides you with a copy. Also, make sure to note any witnesses.
