In terms of fatal work injuries, there has been a 2% increase from 2018 to 2019. In 2018 there were 5,250 total work-related deaths, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. The following year there were 5,333 fatal work injuries. Unfortunately, this amount represents the largest annual number since 2017.
Since 2016, work injuries that resulted in the most fatalities were transportation incidents, falls, slips and trips, violence, and other injuries person or animal.
