Any employee can suffer from a work-related injury or illness. Reports show that the risk is significantly higher for people who work at construction sites or in industrial facilities.
- Construction: Each year, nearly six million construction workers suffer injuries or illnesses, and there are approximately six thousand deaths.
- Industrial: Accidents at industrial sites lead to approximately 1,000 deaths each year.
Although there are Federal and State regulations in place regarding construction and industrial work locations, they are not sufficient to ensure a safe working environment. Often, those in higher positions such as, contractors, owners, site supervisors disregard safety regulations. This increases the risk of accidents that may lead to injury, illness, or death.
