Law firm launches investigation and advocates for pedestrians injured in April 1 sidewalk crash
BOSTON, MA – Keches Law Group is representing several individuals and families affected by the serious box truck crash that occurred on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in Boston’s Chinatown neighborhood. While walking near the intersection of Kneeland Street and Harrison Avenue, multiple pedestrians were struck when a rented Penske box truck veered off the road, jumped the curb, crashed into a building, and flipped onto its side. The resulting chaos left six people seriously injured, including the truck driver.
“We’re deeply saddened by the pain caused to those who were just going about their day,” said Sean Flaherty, Managing Partner at Keches Law Group. “Our firm is committed to securing justice and support for these victims and their loved ones.”
Keches Law Group has launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, including:
- The driver’s conduct, speed and any possible medical issues
- The truck’s condition and upkeep
- Rental and operator responsibilities under Massachusetts law
With decades of experience in personal injury and vehicle accident litigation, the firm is dedicated to advocating for individuals harmed by serious incidents and ensuring that victims receive full compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering, and any permanent impairment.
“Pedestrians walking on a sidewalk, simply going about their day, should never have to fear for their safety,” said Attorney Jonathan Sweet, Partner at Keches Law Group. “This incident is a stark reminder that carelessness behind the wheel can have devastating consequences. We are committed to standing up for the victims and making sure these accidents are prevented in the future.”
Community Response & Recovery
The crash caused significant disruption: striking utility poles, damaging a local restaurant, and blocking Kneeland Street between Tyler and Washington Streets for hours while emergency crews worked and debris was cleared. Thankfully, all six of the primary victims survived despite their injuries and hospitalizations.
