A partir de 1 de julho de 2015, os funcion\u00e1rios que trabalham em um empregador que tem 11 ou mais funcion\u00e1rios ter\u00e3o 40 horas de tempo de doen\u00e7a n\u00e3o remuneradas a cada ano civil. Os empregados poder\u00e3o usar o tempo de doen\u00e7a e faltar ao trabalho por motivos como (1) cuidar de seu filho, c\u00f4njuge ou pai que tenha uma doen\u00e7a f\u00edsica ou mental, (2) lidar com sua pr\u00f3pria doen\u00e7a, (3) comparecer a uma consulta m\u00e9dica de rotina para si ou um membro da fam\u00edlia, ou (4) lidar com os efeitos psicol\u00f3gicos, f\u00edsicos ou legais da viol\u00eancia dom\u00e9stica.<\/p>\n<p>Os funcion\u00e1rios n\u00e3o recebem <a href=\"https:\/\/kecheslaw.com\/pt\/areas-de-pratica\/lei-do-trabalho\/nova-lei-de-licenca-saida\/\">40 horas de tempo de doen\u00e7a<\/a> no in\u00edcio de cada ano civil. Ao inv\u00e9s disso, a maioria dos funcion\u00e1rios ganhar\u00e1 e acumular\u00e1 uma hora de tempo de doen\u00e7a para cada 30 horas de trabalho. Se um empregador j\u00e1 fornece tempo de doen\u00e7a pago a seus funcion\u00e1rios, a nova lei n\u00e3o exige que um empregador forne\u00e7a tempo de folga adicional, desde que a pol\u00edtica existente permita que os funcion\u00e1rios tirem tempo de folga pelas mesmas raz\u00f5es delineadas na nova lei. Quando um empregado deixa seu emprego voluntariamente ou \u00e9 demitido, ao contr\u00e1rio do tempo acumulado de f\u00e9rias, o empregador n\u00e3o \u00e9 obrigado a compensar um empregado por f\u00e9rias por doen\u00e7a acumuladas, mas n\u00e3o utilizadas. \u00c9 importante notar que a nova lei pro\u00edbe o empregador de retaliar contra um empregado que usa o tempo de doen\u00e7a nos termos da nova lei ou ap\u00f3ia um colega de trabalho para faz\u00ea-lo.
