En Massachusetts, un anfitri\u00f3n social puede ser considerado responsable de las lesiones causadas por uno o varios invitados a un evento en el que se puso a disposici\u00f3n o se sirvi\u00f3 alcohol. En febrero de este a\u00f1o, el Tribunal Judicial Supremo abord\u00f3 la cuesti\u00f3n de la responsabilidad de los anfitriones sociales en el caso Juliano c. Simpson y se neg\u00f3 a considerar que un anfitri\u00f3n menor de edad tuviera una obligaci\u00f3n con terceros cuando el anfitri\u00f3n no proporcionaba alcohol pero s\u00ed un lugar donde se pod\u00eda consumir. El caso tiene su origen en un accidente de tr\u00e1fico mortal ocurrido en 2008 tras un d\u00eda de fiesta en el New England Country Festival celebrado en Foxboro. Los demandados presentaron una moci\u00f3n de juicio sumario para que se desestimara el caso contra ellos de acuerdo con la sentencia del Tribunal Judicial Supremo en el caso Juliano. Al oponerse a la moci\u00f3n, el abogado del demandante argument\u00f3 que al permitir que los menores de edad bebieran en sus aparcamientos, los demandados esencialmente proporcionaron alcohol, y deber\u00edan ser considerados responsables bajo la teor\u00eda de la responsabilidad de anfitri\u00f3n social.<\/p>\n
