Esta ley entr\u00f3 en vigor en 2014 y exige a los empleadores cubiertos que proporcionen hasta 15 d\u00edas de permiso con protecci\u00f3n laboral en un periodo de 12 meses a un empleado que sea v\u00edctima de violencia dom\u00e9stica o que tenga un familiar que sea v\u00edctima de violencia dom\u00e9stica. La ley se aplica a las empresas con 50 o m\u00e1s empleados. No se exige un m\u00ednimo de horas trabajadas ni de antig\u00fcedad en el empleo para tener derecho a este tipo de permiso.<\/p>\n<p>El empleado debe utilizar el permiso para abordar cuestiones relacionadas con el comportamiento abusivo o dom\u00e9stico, como buscar tratamiento m\u00e9dico o asesoramiento, obtener servicios para las v\u00edctimas o asistencia jur\u00eddica, conseguir una vivienda, comparecer ante el tribunal, obtener una orden de protecci\u00f3n, reunirse con los agentes de la ley o asistir a los procedimientos de custodia de los hijos.<\/p>\n<p>La decisi\u00f3n de que el permiso sea o no retribuido depende enteramente del empresario. Sin embargo, la ley deja claro que, a menos que el empresario renuncie a este requisito, el empleado debe utilizar todos sus permisos remunerados, como las vacaciones o la baja por enfermedad, antes de utilizar este nuevo tipo de permiso. En la medida de lo posible, el empleado debe notificar a la empresa la necesidad de un permiso con antelaci\u00f3n, y la empresa puede exigir al empleado que presente la documentaci\u00f3n que justifique la necesidad del permiso.<\/p>\n<p>El empresario no tiene m\u00e1s remedio que conceder al empleado el permiso previsto en esta ley y no puede discriminar o tomar represalias contra un empleado por acogerse a este permiso.
