Keches Law Group obtained a $1,950,000 settlement for a Local 11 stagehand harmed by a malfunctioning tool.
"Attorneys Geroge Keches and Loren Laskoski obtained a combined settlement of $1,950,000 for their client, a Local 11 stagehand, who had sustained an injury to the left hand, left shoulder, and lower back.
The stagehand was using a come-along (power puller), a tool that uses a ratchet and winch system to pull and lift heavy objects, when the equipment malfunctioned. The stagehand's left arm was pulled into the mechanism, crushing the left hand. Along with the most critical injury sustained to the hand, injuries to the shoulder and lower back were significant enough for surgical intervention on both body parts. Unfortunately, despite multiple surgeries, there were permanent impairments."
